Life Changing

In December Marshall came to us and said he wanted to accept Jesus as his savior. Ryan and I were both thrilled. He has been attending the Awana Bible Club at church for several years. At Awana boys and girls hear the Gospel weekly as well as learn scripture. They wear cute little vests and earn patches. The kids love it!

Today Marshall took the next step as a believer in Christ. He understands that baptism will not get him into heaven. It is an outward symbol of his faith in Jesus.

Ryan accepted Christ at 12 and I came to know Christ when I was fifteen. It amazes me that such a young boy can make such eternal decisions. I should not be amazed, just in awe of God's faithfulness to answer prayer. I have always prayed that all my children will come to know Jesus at an early age. God is a great and mighty God.

A Hair Raising Event

One of Maddison's friends from church inspired her to donate her hair to "Locks of Love". This is an organization that uses donated hair to make wigs for children who have lost their hair due to illness. Maddison thought it would be so cool to help another little girl. She has been begging me every day for two weeks to take her to the salon.
As her hair was being cut I saw a very grown up girl emerge right before my eyes. She is so proud of her "new do". We are very proud of her for putting others first.

I'm what they call a CHARACTER!

I can't believe how stinkin' cute Marshall is in his Cub Scout uniform. He and Ryan are having a great time at Den meetings. I jokingly told Marshall that I hope he is not a very good scout. It takes me way too long to sew on all of those patches. He said that he was going to earn every patch possible just because I said that. He is so excited to start earing everything, that he and Ryan are working ahead. That will pay off since we will be leaving in February for Japan.

Diving In

Marshall and Maddison are having a great time with me at homeschool. They are eager to start everyday with prayer and bible study. The part they love best is all the extra activities they have joined. One of Mondays highlights is our trip to the YMCA for swimming. They think it is so cool to go swimming in the middle of they day when everyone else is at school.
